The RDI Ocean Surveyor 150kHz ADCP was not operated due to a hardware fault, so all data was collected with the RDI Ocean Surveyor 75kHz ADCP, which was run in narrow band mode only. The first four days of the voyage had a degraded seapath data feed to UHDAS. The vessel-mounted OCEAN SURVEYOR family of ADCPs are the capable of collecting detailed maps of the distribution of water currents and suspended materials through the water column and along the ship's path in real time over extreme depths. Phased array system allows users to select between Teledyne RDI's high-resolution and longrange settings The Ocean Surveyor operates at 38 kHz and is able to profile up to 1200 m in broadband mode (OS38BB) with a bin size of 12 m averaging ensembles every 5 minutes. In narrow band mode (OS38NB) with 24 m bins, profiles can reach as deep as 1500 m. This dataset contains the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS 10/2008.

This dataset contains the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS 10/2008. The voyage took place off New South Wales coast between 9th and 19th October 2008. This dataset has been processed and archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart.
